The Role 
Our Retail Training and Development team drive the growth and development of our retail team members and leaders through the creation of blended learning solutions. We are currently seeking a proactive and adaptable Learning Designer to join this dedicated, close knit team in Port Melbourne on a 12-month fixed term contract. You will be a passionate L&D professional whose main aim in this role is to identify, plan and script creative solutions to training needs. You will be involved in multiple projects simultaneously and work on a variety of materials, spanning from workshops to in-store tools and e-learning.
 
As Learning Designer, you will also be responsible for: 
•    Completing training needs analysis and working closely with stakeholders to develop appropriate solutions to build the capability of our retail team members, Partners and Optometrists
•    Reviewing market trends and industry research to apply best practice principles to learning interventions 
•    Scoping the design, development and implementation of learning solutions to fit retail and leadership capability needs, ensuring they are line with the business strategy and plan 
•    Partnering with the digital team and 3rd party vendors to ensure your blended learning solutions are developed and deployed
•    Supporting the implementation of learning solutions by partnering with facilitators and the wider business as appropriate 
•    Reviewing and assessing the effectiveness of training interventions and solutions 

About You 
Reporting to the Learning Designer Manager, you will possess the following: 
•    Hold a qualification in Instructional Design or a related subject, this would be desirable but not essential
•    Proven experience in instructional design and/or technical writing experience, with knowledge of accelerated learning techniques a bonus 
•    Experience with instructional design for Leadership or Management is highly desirable but not essential
•    Strong understanding of visual and instructional design principles, with experience in designing for eLearning authoring tools such as Captivate, Storyline and RISE essential 
•    Capacity to prioritise work, meet strict deadlines  
•    Can work both autonomously and as part of a team 
•    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across the wider business
