The Role 

We are currently seeking an Internal Communications Executive to join our Communications team in Port Melbourne. This newly created position will work closely with the senior leadership team to define, align and communicate key business goals and objectives, engaging team members at all levels of the organization with Specsavers’ vision and values.  

Reporting into the Communications Manager, you will be the first point of contact for internal communications enquiries, a trusted advisor to the wider business for communications opportunities, challenges and requests. Working in collaboration with your stakeholders, you will develop and deliver strategic and operational communications programs, events and activities to support key business initiatives.  

The successful applicant will be responsible for the following duties: 

  • Be the first point of contact for internal communications enquiries, and be a trusted advisor to the wider business for communications opportunities, challenges and requests. 

  • Proactively conceptualise, write, edit and curate quality content for digital and print communications 

  • Consider and proactively recommend best solutions and communications vehicles to land key projects and initiatives. 

  • In conjunction with the Communications team, proactively generate and manage the content, as well as the continual development of the intranet. 

  • Plan and execute weekly communications, short-term projects and communication strategies. 

  • Personal Development – drive personal development in line with business requirements and individual needs.  Take full responsibility for ongoing development both personally and professionally. 

  • Team Work – consistently support and cooperate with other team members, and proactively participate in creating a positive team spirit within the department.  

About You
In this fast-paced role, you will be a positive self-starter with high energy, commercially and analytically minded with an extensive background in Communications and web based technology.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills: 

  • A strong career history in an internal communications-centric role 

  • Demonstrated track record of effective stakeholder management at all organisational levels 

  • Demonstrable ability to develop, propose and implement end-to-end communication strategies with your superior writing and editing skills due to your strong attention to detail 

  • Proven ability to produce work of an exceptionally high standard to strict deadlines 

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Power Point with experience in Event Coordination  

  • Proficient in Apple OSX and familiar with Drupal Content management system would be desirable but not essential.
